Popped into my brain upon waking up (about 5:20 a.m.): "Dare me" by Pointer Sisters. Haven't heard this in at least a decade. Had to look up the title. A bit later, "You can't blackmail Jesus" by Jumpin' Jesus. Likewise - haven't heard this in 10-15 years. Jesus. :O|

pestilence

"I see the pestilence outside my window". Sunless Saturday by Fishbone. Haven't heard this in about 15 years, and don't particularly like it. It's evening, so the phrase occurred softly.

I have a mild case of A.D.D., and about two years ago, some months after ending a year-long treatment that involved two stimulants, I noticed that songs popped into my head randomly. It tends to happen more frequently in the morning (before I get distracted by work?). I first noticed that my brain would often replay a song I'd heard the night before. Then, after listening to the CD Scarlet's Walk by Tori Amos, I could not get the songs out of my head for two or three weeks (it became distressing). Something similar happened with Bruce Springsteen, though after I saw him live and listened to his CD's repeatedly for a few weeks.

Then, I noticed random songs. A few days ago, it was "Si tu vas a Rio", which I hadn't heard in several decades. I don't think I've heard anything remotely like it recently. When this happens in the morning, it tends to be more "forceful", meaning that the song(s) stick in my head quite strongly, and I often "hear" the same sentence(s) repeatedly.

Where does my brain dig up this stuff? Jesus!
